Coffee Storehouse is proud to offer the Yama Vacuum Brewer, also known as Yama Siphon or Syphon Brewer. If you've never had vacuum brewed coffee before, you'll be in for a treat, both visually and in taste with our Yama Vacuum Pot. This Vacuum Pot works on gas and electric range tops. Use medium-high heat. It takes about 4 minutes to heat the water, all the water is siphoned to the top chamber and then allow 2 minutes to brew. Once you remove from the heat source, the coffee comes back down to the bottom carafe. Remove the top, placing it in its convertible lid/stand, and bring the pot to the table for serving. A wire grid is included on this Yama Syphon pot for use on electric stoves, the grid is not required for gas stoves. Always use medium or medium high heat. Dishwasher and microwave safe. This is a great price for this style of coffee brewing! Plus we carry replacement parts. Directions for use: Use a slightly finer grind of coffee. Drop the washable, reusable cloth covered filter into the infusion chamber with the chain hanging down into the glass siphon tube. Pull the chain down until you can hook it to the bottom of the siphon tube. Fill the bottom carafe to the 8 mark with hot water and place 8 measuring spoons for the.

Excellent coffee maker
When I first seen this product, I was trying to decide between it and the Bodum. Having made a side by side comparison, I decided I liked the handle on the Yama model better (it looked more sturdy). I was a little hesitant about buying it at first because it was made in Taiwan, but when my pot arrived I knew i made the right decision. The coffe pot is hand made and the quality of the craftsmanship is exceptional. When I purchased this unit, I also purchased a cory glass filter from ebay to us in place of the filter assembly that comes with this unit for about $15.00 (shipping included), I highly recommend this and it works great. I have used this brewer several times now using coffe ground for auto drip and it works great; my friend who is a coffe fanatic said it was better than starbucks and is buying one of these as I write this review. I did not buy this product through Amazon because quite frankly the 20 dollar shipping charges that the seller (Expresso Parts Northwest) is...

6 Months later
Hi All,
OK, this is the first time that I have ever written a review of any product. In short, you will find NO OTHER percolator, drip machine, or other that will give you a better cup of coffee than a vacuum brewer such as the Yama. I purchased the Yama 8-cup 6 months ago, and love it! Not only is it fun to watch for the first couple times (not a bad idea, so as to ensure nothing screws up), it is a breeze to wash after the brewing. You can get your hand or brush into the top globe, although you need a brush for the lower (coffee urn).
I was a bit confused when reading about how the cloth filter fit into the scheme, but once I saw it...it was very obvious. Set the filter in the bottom of the top globe, with the chain assembly dropping down through the narrow tube, then pull the chain (spring thingee) down farther from the bottom and hook it onto the base of the narrow tube. Simple. The filter works great. Absolutely no sediment flows through, and cleaning the filter...
A great product
I have used a Yama 8 cup vac-Pot for some two years now and am totally delighted with it. It is not only visually attractive, I still love to watch the vacuum siphon the brewed coffee into the pot below. I'm still amazed at how dry the spent coffee is after the siphon has drawn the coffee down through the grounds and into the pot. I've found that the ideal brewing time for the best tasting coffee is four (4) minutes, just like brew time for a French Press. The coffee is consistently delicious to the last drop.
My only wish is that it would make more coffee as it only makes about two and a half standard cups of coffee.
I couldn't recommend it higher. I'm going to buy an extra one to have on the shelf just in case I drop and break the one I use daily.
